About this deal
The only downfall to Code EDP is projection and performance. Although, not bad...it's projection and performance is mediocre for being an EDP as Code EDP doesn't project off the skin enough and has somewhat of a thin feel --- but never feels fleeting. If these shortcomings were amped to perform like a true EDP. Code EDP would be a much better fragrance.

Edit: having now had this on a bit longer, the longevity of the EDP is better on the skin than the EDT. Perhaps an extra hour of decent strength from the EDP - not enough to change my earlier conclusion though. On clothes not much difference. When I wear it, I love the smell on me. And people like it too.. they don't know it's male perfume 😝 There's a lot of fragrances I like or even love from the opening to drydown, and some I like only during drydown.I bought this the first time right when it came out in 2004-2005 and absolutely loved it!! I haven’t had it since.

This might just be the best release of 2004, I am gutted they reformulated and placed it in a new bottle. Going over side by side with EDP and the original EDT, the EDT comes across as lavender/leather on my skin, pretty animalic, almost like a burnt rubber type smell. The EDP has some similar beats with the lavender/citrus opening then dries down to be more of a softer, sensual floral scent that has some similar animalic leather but the opting for suede definitely lightens that load. Then some vanilla and tonka round it all off, giving a very pleasant scent.
Overall: A classic, inspired creation. For the guy who's never worn cologne, there is nothing to fear here. Bold, deep and earthy. Your gf will like it, but she may say you smell like someone she knows :) I never wore the vintage. The current version is truly fantastic - it very much has a sparkling, "cola-esque" vibe when it opens, and it dries down to a very pleasant balsamic-anise-powdery scent.

Legendary formulation. Classic and very elegant eloquent perfumery. It owns fresh powdery slightly sweet and spicy facets. It was heavily reformulated as I know. My cousin's favorite fragrance. I have tried the fragrance several times in perfumeries, but I haven't fully experienced it then, maybe because of that chaotic odor in the fragrance stores. Now I can share my opinion and experience with it more clearly. So overall, I prefer the opening of the EDT a lot more, but probably slightly prefer the dry down of the EDP. If the EDP had just a little bit more freshness in the opening, I think it would be the better scent. I recently tried the new Armani code parfum and that was a baby powdery mess to my nose. This one is no different. They smell very similar.
